Miniature Dachshunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs and Bouvier des FlandresD'Barcy Dachshunds

Having all our lives enjoyed lving with dogs, starting with my first purebred dog a Scottish Terrier in 1972. With Cinders, and learning and working with her breeders, I was introduced to showing, training, breeding, and terrier grooming. After meeting my husband and finding out he enjoyed shows, learning about different breeds and just talking dogs as much as I did (he had Brittanys for several years), we researched together what dog breed we wanted for our home. My husband and I started D'Barcy Kennel after my first retirement in the 1990's with Bouvier des Flandres.  Our first girl Mariah, taught us about the intelligence, instincts, and work ethics of the breed and we enjoyed showing them for a few years.

My twin sister C.J. Foster has always been involved with our dogs, and sponsered serveral over the years. She started in Old English Sheepdogs in the 1970's.

We then added the smaller herding dog, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog with our girl "Ch. Piekny Angelique D'Barcy, CGC, also known as "Angie." We imported two more dogs from England to help out the gene pool, and met people from all over the world. While we enjoyed the involvement to bring this breed to full recognition of AKC, the time came to go to a smaller, more portable and easier to handle breed.

In May of 2005, we brought home our first miniature dachshund, a wirehaired, named EZ Goins Toby at D'Barcy. "Toby." He has been a delight training for the show and obedience ring and received his CGC the following January. He is retired with a Rally Advance Excellent title (4th Rally Title). September 2006 has seen the addition of a longhaired miniature male, Calista Bronzed Onyx D'Barcy "Tyler."  In January 2009 with my sister C.J., we have another wire coat and his name is Travis.

Their pictures, personal information,  and achievements are located on their individual pages. As with all my website endeavors, I hope this website is educational and fun to all our visitors.
